Now where was I...
Oh yes... St. Petersburg, Russia.
Talk about things to do!
There is a lot to do in St. Petersburg, Russia... I like to call it St. Pete for short.
There is this neat old battleship, as shown in the two photos above.
It's kinda reminiscent of the sort of old battleships that the U.S. sent around the world on Teddy Roosevelt's "Walk Softly, And Carry A Big Stick" Diplomacy flotilla cruise.
You know... sort of like the old battleships, like the Maine.
Then there is the museum.
Plenty of old Master's works in here. For about 600 Rubles, you can gain entrance to all of the Museum and its branches. I particularly enjoyed the collection from the Dutch Masters. The Black Sea ancient villages collection, and the Mesopotamia displays were exciting!
The views around the city are amazing too. Like the ones that follow:
I grabbed a non-stop flight from Dallas that flew to St. Pete on Delta Air Lines
that cost me $829.00.
It only took me 16 hours and about 40 minutes to get there.
I stayed in this hotel...
at $85 a night, this was the Mr. Diddy deal of the day!
and rented one of these at the airport to tour the city.
It was a paltry $119 a day with tax and insurance! Once I was checked into my hotel, I was told about a great place for breakfast. I had an amazing dining experience at Romeo's Bar and Grill. Since they open at 9am, I didn't have to wait to get a bite to start my day. Romeo's is pictured below.Later, I dined for lunch at Terrassa atop one of St. Pete's tallest buildings. Then for supper I enjoyed a fine meal at
The Restaurant: Severyanin, as seen above. They serve an amazing assortment of traditional Russian food. I highly suggest trying one of their fish dishes.
After a wonderful experience at Severyanin, I was talking to the hotel desk clerk and she suggested that I try a dinner at Palkin.
So, the next evening I had to dine there. This is Palkin in the photo above. Quite an experience!
If you're into caviar, this is the place. I suggest their cream of mushroom soup with a main course of lobster thermidor. I must insist on sampling their delicious nitrogen crafted ice cream!
My next leg of my trip would take me to Moscow!
Mr. Diddy... Mr. Diddy... Mr. Diddy, Wake up!
Oh Geee, Kahn.
I was sleeping again. Oh the agony. The horror.
I never left home!
'Till next time, folks.
Diddy Out!
